Conrad Schewe Conrad Schewe serves as Asset Manager for the Great Lakes Capital Fund. Conrad started in the field of affordable housing development working as a planning, finance and economic incentives consultant at a consulting firm in Detroit from 1994 to 1997. Projects included a variety of redevelopment projects that utilized a mix of tax incentives, public financing and conventional debt. For the next two years Conrad worked for a non-profit housing developer managing all aspects of financing, acquiring and rehabilitating apartments in an older neighborhood of Denver, CO. Conrad then went on to form a construction company in Denver and specialized in rehabilitating older commercial and multi-family buildings. After moving back to Michigan, Conrad went to work again as a consultant developing financing packages for redevelopment projects, primarily in the City of Detroit. Prior to joining GLCF, Conrad worked for over seven years for a southeast Michigan based real estate developer managing all aspects of the due diligence, acquisition, entitlement, construction and sale/lease up of a variety of commercial, industrial, multi-family and residential land development projects in Michigan and Florida.

 

Conrad has a BS of Urban and Regional Planning from Eastern Michigan University. He is active in his community, and sits on the Planning Commission of the City Plymouth. Conrad is a member of the American Planning Association and the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).
